Other important skin problems in MRCP......

7) Pemphigus/pemphigoid



Two common autoimmune bullous diseases. Remember that pemphigus is described as flaccid, thin roofed blisters involving the mucosal membrane and the blisters have tendency to rupture. (Pemphigus also has positive Nikolsky's sign). For pemphigoid, it is described as multiple tense blisters. (such as in above photo)

8) Porphyria cutanea tarda

The blisters and vesicles usually occur on sun-exposed areas. Classically described over the hand. To learn more about porphyria, click here !

9) Psoriasis

Clasically described as 'well dermacated salmon pink plaque with silvery white scales'. There are a few subtypes of psoriasis, to learn more, click here!
